Dr. Ethel-King is the founder and director of New Horizons Wellness Services, LLC. He is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who has over 19 years of clinical and management experience. He is a member of the American Psychological Association. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Pacific University and his Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College. Dr. Ethel-King also holds a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Seattle Pacific University.
Dr. Ethel-King has a rich background of providing therapeutic and diagnostic services to pediatric and adult patients, couples, and families in hospital, clinic, day and residential treatment, group home, boarding school, wilderness, university, and care facility settings. As an African American psychologist, Dr. Ethel-King has developed a focus on cross-cultural issues. He enjoys helping individuals gain a sense of mastery over their environment and achieve optimal health by enhancing their developmental, mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing.
Dr. Ethel-King’s clinical and academic endeavors provide him with ongoing opportunities to give back to the community. He is active in student training and community projects. Living in the Pacific Northwest, he makes an effort to spend time in nature for fitness and sense of meaning. Some of his outdoor pursuits include camping, fishing, crabbing, and boating.
