Stephanie obtained her Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2016 from Milligan College in Johnson City, TN. She is passionate about collaborating with clients of all ages and their families to reach new goals. She is licensed in Oregon and is certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. She hails from Northwest Indiana. Prior to starting on her Occupational Therapy career, she used her skills to help people through working with AmeriCorps in the Pacific Northwest and as a Child Life Specialist in St. James, Missouri. She even had fun helping people get their “daily fix” as a waitress/barista at a small coffee shop in Indiana!
She has experience in school and outpatient pediatric settings using DIR/Floortime and Sensory Integration approaches. In the school setting, she worked with students between the ages of nine and fourteen and their classroom teachers to optimize learning. At the outpatient clinic, she had tons of fun working with kids from two and a half to fourteen years old.
Stephanie gained OT experience in an inpatient rehabilitation center in Illinois. She worked with a wide variety of adults, ranging in age from late 20s to early 80s. She enjoyed getting to learn about the lives of the people while helping them regain as much independence as possible. One of her favorite aspects of working in the medical setting with adults was trying to incorporate hobbies into therapy, which made each session different even if goals were similar.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, crocheting, and entertaining her two cats.
